The Worship Setting
The worship setting is a simple one. We meet in a modest building that is suitable for the purpose of worship. You will not find elaborate architecture or costly furnishings, simply a structure where God's people gather to praise and honor him.
Singing
All singing will be a cappella, that is, without instrumental accompaniment. As Christians, we are commanded to sing and make the melody in our hearts to the Lord.
(Ephesians 5:19, Colossians 3:16)
Prayer
There are several prayers during the service. Prayers are designed to praise God, thank Him for His blessings, intercede for others, and petition him to meet our needs.
(Philippians 4:6, Matthew 6:9-13)
Teaching
The teaching will be done by men speaking one at a time. You will notice that the teacher will have no title, and will not be wearing any special garments which would set him apart from others.
(I Corinthians 14:40, I Peter 2:5-9)
Invitation
An invitation will be offered at the close of the sermon. In the audience there maybe some who desire to become a Christian, or there maybe Christians who desire to confess sins or request prayers for a specific need.
The Lord's Supper
While visiting on a Sunday morning the Lord's Supper, or Communion, will be observed just as we understand it to have been done on the night our Lord introduced it.
The brother attending the table will take bread, give thanks for it, break a piece from it, eat, and pass it to another, until each Christian has broken and eaten. He will then take the cup containing the fruit of the vine, give thanks for it, drink, the pass to another until Christian drinks from it
(I Corinthians 10:16-17)
This is the simple New Testament pattern repeated at this congregation each first day of the week.
(Acts 20:7)
If you choose not to participate simply pass the platter or cup to the person next to you.
Contribution
We do not solicit money through and special offerings or other fund-raising methods. The Lord's church is financed by the contributions of the members. Contributions are only made during the Sunday worship service.
(I Corinthians 16:1-2)
Christians are to give as they have prospered and purposed in their hearts.
(II Corinthians 9:7)
As our guest, you are not expected to participate in the contribution, but feel free to do is you wish.
The length of service depends on who is delivering the sermon but Sunday morning services typically range from 60 to 90 minutes.
We have an inclusive worship serivce. We do not segregate our congregation by age, gender, ethnic orgin, special interest, or any of the other catagories the world uses to divide us. We are united in Chirst and all worship together as one, from the youngest child to the eldest member.
